Our handmade hardwood chair workshop in Asheville, North Carolina, keeps us close to the natural world that inspires and informs each of our furniture designs. At Brian Boggs Chairmakers, we bring out the natural characteristics of premium select timber, imbuing each hardwood chair with innate beauty and strength that it already developed in the forest.
Many of our pieces feature 100% wood construction (no metal screws or reinforcing pieces) because the joinery is so strong on its own. The benefit of such heavy reliance on wood is that wood grows and shrinks with the seasons. The more metal you have in place in wood, the more likely screws and such will work themselves out of place and fall out, weakening the overall structure. Therefore, the less metal, the longer your hardwood chair is going to last.

We’re proud to introduce the latest addition to our hardwood chair lines: the Sunniva. This unique outdoor hardwood chair is made with tools and techniques developed in-shop to permanently mold each back slat to the ideal ergonomic contour. The Sunniva provides ample support to your back and head while withstanding all the elements without losing its shape.
Along with the standard arm chair model, we also make the Sunniva outdoor rocking chair, providing years of relaxation on the patio, in the garden, by the river, or wherever else you would want to relax in a hardwood chair.
