Product Description
Comfortable. Classic.
A beautifully articulated expression of comfort specifically designed to benefit the physical health of musicians. Born of collaboration with guitarists and decades of ergonomic study. Customized to your dimensions.

From Brian Boggs, Creator of the Sonus:
“Most of us think of playing music as a wonderful expression of soul. It is that, but for accomplished musicians it is also physically demanding. Musicians suffer from myriad physical difficulties as they position their bodies around their instruments. This chair is designed specifically to support them comfortably for hours of practice or performance. The Sonus chair promotes better posture, circulation and expression of movement.”
Sonus Videos:
In the first of these videos, Brian discusses the features of the Sonus, which is then reviewed by Paul Heumiller from Dream Guitars; the second video shows off how we construct the pinwheel joint that brings together the seat and back of the Sonus.

“Just wanted to tell you again how much I love my guitar chair. What a fantastic work of art! Congratulations! I had high hopes and the chair has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is unique in that it is not only a great chair for sitting and practicing but my wife also loves it and totally accepts the chair as a permanent part of our living room furniture. In fact, our most beautiful chair.
I began my journey in search of the right chair when I received a very special, custom, handmade, acoustic guitar from a friend, Barry Daniels, a NASA engineer, who has been making guitars and tools for guitar makers for more than thirty years. Another contributor was the lower back difficulties, which meant that I had trouble practicing for more than 30 minutes without discomfort.
Thus began my search for “the chair”. I found many ergonomic chairs on the market that are functional and commercial but not specifically for guitar players. Of course, they are less expensive but incompatible with a truly deserving, high quality guitar. The only chair that I found that complemented my Barry Daniels guitar was the Boggs Collective Guitar chair.
My wife who is skeptically supportive of my various projects, was also amazed when the chair arrived. The Chair, the Guitar and myself have now all moved from the back to the front room of the house and when I am not playing, my wife is proudly showing the chair to her friends, as if it is hers. I must occasionally remind her that this was not her idea.
Most importantly, I have now been playing on the chair for a couple of months and it is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Perfect in every way for serious guitar players”.
My Thanks to the Boggs Collective Team,
Bill Walker

“The guitar chair is superb. I got a chance to
use it for a jam session last night. It is extraordinarily
comfortable to play guitar in. I also found
the chair puts me in a posture of engagement,
helping me focus on the music. I’m appreciating
all the fine and beautiful construction details. It’s
a brilliant design. I enjoyed sitting in it while my
friends and I were just hanging out too.”

Love this chair!
I have a church office and a home office; this is in my home office with my instruments and tons of books.
The height and fit are wonderful. Indeed, no problems with the chair getting in the way of playing.
This is a new family keepsake. I am thrilled and I thank you. Worth every dollar!

I began my search for a proper musicians chair years ago when back pain would cause me to stop practicing my guitar. I’ve used piano benches, drum thrones with “back support” and other poorly built metal chairs claiming to be made specifically for guitarists. None of them worked. I discovered the Sonus Musician’s Chair and watched the video of Brian Boggs describing the chair and knew someone finally listened to the needs of musicians. I received my chair and learned the video doesn’t do the chair justice, THIS CHAIR IS BEAUTIFUL. I began practicing and learned it was not love at first sitting. I had been using a foot stool and sitting improperly for so long I had gotten used to it. The chair is designed to help your posture. When you use a footstool with this chair you are setting your spine up for major discomfort. I put the footstool away, ordered a large pillow and kept both feet on the ground. I played my guitar with no discomfort for the first time in years. I practice up to six hours a day (on good days) and in a very short time period I could not live without this chair. The chair is built to last a lifetime and pass on to those you leave behind. The cost of the chair is minimal when I think of how much time I’ll be spending using it and how comfortable I’ll be in it. The chair fulfills it’s ultimate purpose; I no longer think about my back pain while playing. THANK YOU

Got the chair for Christmas. I have to say that it is nothing short of spectacular. Very comfortable to sit and play in and it is a beautiful work of art to boot. My wife went gaga over it and was disappointed when I took the chair down to my music room in the basement. Thanks very much for your creation. It’s a winner.
